Developing a Risk Management Plan and Program
When developing a Risk Management plan or program, we first look at all your emergency assets as well as local, county and federal assets available to you. We then take every conceivable disaster for your location and business and then develop a usable plan designed specifically for your needs. The plan is developed as an overall manual with situational plans that can easily be pulled out for that specific situation. Such as a recipe book. When you are needing a specific recipe you don't don't need to pull the whole book, you just pull the ingredients that you need. The Risk Management manual is designed the same way. There is the base content and then situational plans that are easily pulled based on the specific situation. The Plan is designed to be fluid with the ebb and flow of your needs, or as we call this Span of Control.
The Risk Management program is designed around an existing plan or one that Ridgewalker has developed for you. The program includes training, assessment of preparedness and emergency assets as well as updates for the plan and program as your needs grow or down size. The program runs concurrent with your Plan, so as your needs ebb and flow, so does the Risk Management program, while always meeting the needs to the highest ability.
Assessment of your current Risk Management Plan and Program
If it's been years since your Risk Management Plan has been looked at or even your Risk Management Program been updated or even implemented, let Ridgewalker take an in depth look and get it updated and running for you. A disaster can strike any moment with out warning or prejudice. In order to mitigate the loss of life or property, an updated Plan and working Program must in place and running. Don't be caught, be smart.
Develop and Implementation of a Training Program
No matter the size of the organization or just for one individual, surviving a disaster depends on how one reacts. Without the knowledge and confidence of how to react, a situation can go from bad to worse in a matter of seconds. Don't be caught without the proper skills and confidence to react to any given disaster. Ridgewalker will develop a customized training program based on amount of people and emergency assets that meet the needs of your location. Once developed, Ridgewalker will implement the training program as well as train the trainers within the organization. Complacency in training and preparedness can be the difference between saving lives and loosing them. The confidence and skills gained in a training program can be easily transferred to the home or any given situation one may find themselves in at any time or place.

Managing Search and Rescue Missions and Preplanning
Its not just sending teams in the field in the hopes of finding or rescuing a subject. Proper strategy, tactics and plans will lead you through the thousands of clues in order to find that one person. Following the Incident Command System (ICS), we work through a series of complex scenarios of actual missions from small to large scale incidents. The scenarios cover resources, mutual aid, situational awareness, investigations and the unexpected.
The best course of action for mitigating a management situation from getting out of control is to have a preplan in place. This entails MOU's with responding agencies and land managers, Command Post locations where common incidences take place, specific protocols for running various type of missions and working with mutual aid resources. Ridgewalker can assist your agency in developing your preplan for your community, county or state.
Wilderness Survival Skills
Also known as "Aboriginal Skills," you will learn all the necessary skills needed to staying well until help arrives or until you find your way to safety. We focus on the main skills of tools, shelter, warmth, and food.
Lost in the Wilderness
Whenever venturing into the wilderness, one must always be prepared for the "what if" scenarios. No matter what age, knowing the nine rules and the necessary skills of staying safe until Search and Rescue arrives will better your chances of survival while lost in the wilderness. Ridgewalker has taught youth groups as young as 5 to hiking club members as old as 85. The Lost in the Wilderness program will teach you not only how to survive, but how to create attractants so Search and Rescue can find you more easily. Furthermore, we will teach you what Search and Rescue is doing in order to find you.
